Frampton Co presents Desert Weave, an exhibition of works by artist Naomi Livia on view June 12 through July 17, 2026 at Exhibition The Barn. The opening event takes place June 12, 5–7 pm.
The exhibition comprises large-format black and white photographs printed on gelatin silver paper alongside slow, meditative handmade weaves created from natural fiber threads woven around the loom in a continuous, circular manner. These are paired with analog photographs of desert dunes that echo the curvature of women’s bodies. Each weaving is produced through a laborious yet meditative process on custom-built shaped looms and is exhibited on the very loom on which it was made. Livia creates her own visual vocabulary by bridging handmade weaving and analog photography, posing questions about technology, intimacy, environmentalism, and feminist identity. Smaller works — drawings, collages, watercolors, and oil paintings — extend these themes through undulating, body-like dunes that evoke both sensuality and desolation. The works are on view to the public for the first time in the Hamptons.
Desert Weave is on view June 12 through July 17, 2026 at Exhibition The Barn at 141 Maple Lane in Bridgehampton. The Barn is open to the public this summer Wednesday-Friday, 11am – 5pm, as well as weekends by appointment (contact: exhibition@framptonco.com).
