Making of Exhibition

January marked the time to conceive the second annual show for Exhibition and kick-off collaborations for a summer opening. For this year’s transformation Elena sought a vibrant all-encompassing installation and invited artist Elise Ferguson to visit Bridgehampton. In the dead of winter, Elise opened the door, her eyes lit up and she said, “this is a magical garage.” The result: Ferguson’s largest textile installation to date, Full May, powerful patterning with a 5-gradient color, hand painted and screen painted canvas panels. At glance appearing to be digital, upon closer look nuanced with depth and pencil marks highlighting the handmade quality.

Elena curated the 2019 show with select works from R & Company that celebrated sculptural form through varied materials, such as Johnny Swing’s welded quarters and stainless steel Murmuration Bench and Wendell Castle’s undulating Pinkie Floor Lamp. These were juxtaposed alongside select pieces from our own F Co Collection including our Relaxed Tuxedo Sofa, a stunning 14-foot bespoke sofa in a dual-shade slipcover with leather accents inspired by local equestrian farms, and our organic and shapely Arc Desk.

True to the Frampton Co ethos, the innovative dynamic show explored new ways to engage with art and blurred conventional design paradigms.
