Frampton Co announces MAUD BRYT: PLANS opening event July 31, 6–8 pm.
Plans, an exhibition of works by artist Maud Bryt will be on view July 31 through August 28, 2026 at Exhibition The Barn. Maud Bryt uses color like pretend architecture. Working in the persona of a fictional architect, possibly a charmingly incompetent one, maybe just a bad architect in her last decades of life, artist Maud Bryt makes drawings and paintings that evoke architectural and landscape plans. Imprecise, inconsequential, a dream of places and spaces never built, but to be roamed nonetheless, she lays out a world of plans for imaginary clients. Accompanying the Plans paintings are plaster sculptures which stand in for the imaginary clients’ personas– yelling here, breathing there– and jewelry to give as apology gifts, each evoking a small personal thought or memory. Plans is on view July 31 through August 28, 2026 at Exhibition The Barn at 141 Maple Lane in Bridgehampton. The Barn is open to the public this summer Wednesday-Friday, 11am – 5pm, and weekends by appointment (contact: exhibition@framptonco.com).
