We’ve spent years cultivating an intentional community, ever-eager to bring one another into valuable conversation on art, design, and the in-between. Our take on the “salon-style” concept conversation began at our Bridgehampton gallery, Exhibition The Barn.
We invited our art & design friends and family to join us for live chats with some of our favorite thinkers, do-ers and creators. The goal since day one has been to offer behind-the-curtain insight, an in-depth look at concept through creation, and surprising details not typically shared on social media. (The industry secrets, people! You heard ‘em here first!) We launched our first-ever formal Salon Series at Exhibition Penthouse in New York City in January, a new ongoing event that furthers the concept begun at The Barn. Artist-designers Fernando Mastrangelo and Nick Missel joined as our panelists for Dismantling Mediums: From Inspiration to Installation. We were graced with their transparency on everything from their inspiration sources and material explorations, to the artist’s fidelity to craft and the challenges of growing a business as a creative. Elena played the part of moderator, diving deep below the surface… and even revealed a few special anecdotes of her own. It was a wonderful night sharing the room with other innovators – artists, makers, clients, trade friends and colleagues alike. The interested (and incredibly interesting!) personalities and voices in the crowd asked bold questions, pushing the envelope of transparency even further. Thank you to our panelists Fernando and Nick, and to all the curious minds who joined us. We’ll see you soon for the next Salon Series event!
*Salon Series is dedicated to cultivating an inspiring community through thoughtful conversations on the intersections of art, design, and the creative process.*
