Iacono Residence | Cozy livingroom With Comfortable Furniture in Brown Tones and a Fireplace at the Bottom

Iacono Residence

Location: Flatiron, New York

Marking a 15+ year collaboration with the client and their growing family, this project turned a 4,500-square-foot Flatiron loft into a comfortable home for the family and its art collection. After initial property scouting and spatial arrangement, we updated nurseries into bedrooms, created a playroom and a library, and completed an extensive kitchen renovation. Meticulously-selected furniture includes pedigree vintage and custom-tailored pieces in intimate arrangements that stand up to the task of entertaining guests, while providing the whole family with a comfortable space to hang out in on a daily basis.

In response to the loft’s vast space and abundance of light, we selected large-scale, powerful works that wouldn’t get lost. A photograph by Joseph LaPiana stands out above the fireplace, while a graphic, site-specific mural frames the space and creates a sense of containment. Works by emerging artists are shown together as a salon-style wall in the entry.
